Wherever I am seen with a Camera in my hand , some curious bunch of people do tend to ask about which camera and lens are used for wedding photography , whether its a vendor , hobbyists , amateurs or just an Interested Uncle.Me in ActionPic Courtesy : Debangshu Mallick
Although I keep saying that Equipment is not the most important thing in photography , its a mere tool which will help you achieve what you are looking for , the main thing is the creativity the person behind the Camera holds. But for the gear junkies who will still say “naaaah lets see your gears” I go on anyway 🙂   Here is a list of things I own

The Cameras

I have Three DSLR Bodies , Primary Being Canon EOS 5D Mark III , EOS 60D and 500D. Each of them are top of the Series of Camera of their segment (except 500D , it was the first DSLR I ever owned , has been a trusted companion ever since )

The Lenses

I have more Lenses , but the above shown are the ones I use for Weddings , one of the Best and BEAST lenses available in the Market , the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC (FX), the Canon 50mm f/1.4 (FX) , Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Macro (FX) , Canon 50mm f/1.8 (FX) and in APS-C I have Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 , Tamron 18-270 PZD and Sigma 10-20. I have more in wishlist but that another thing 🙂

Let there be LIGHTS !!

E3-500x500-horz

Wedding Photography is Challenging as one of the Reason is that you need the ability to control your lights , normally I shoot in ambient light conditions for candids , but in situations wherever applicable I like to carry around these lights for aid.

Apart from these I have many maintenance equipment , light modifiers. But these are one part , the above takes care of the Capture of Photos , but another part of Processing is done by my Beastly Desktop , I primarily shoot in RAW , work in details and give you the much more detailed photo as possible , I have Displays which are Universally calibrated to most popular Color Profiles , my Displays are calibrated to depict Color Space of around 91% of Adobe RGB (What you see on Apple Displays) and 97% of sRGB (Global Color Standard for Internet Viewing and General Purpose) ,  I have one of the best hardware platform which is suitable and optimized for Photography Editing Purpose and I constantly keep upgrading stuffs to keep up with new demands and technology.

But again I will say that these are the equipment which can help you up to certain level only , if the photographer isn’t creative and smart enough to apply his skills , then even with the above equipment you won’t get the WOW factor in images.

To all the folks that ask me about equipment while I am on a shoot, please do not find me rude if I am not able to answer all of your questions while I am working. If you want some more details, just contact me!
